TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Customer complaint
– Oil seepage between the air inlet duct and the
turbocharger.
Possible cause
– Sealing between the air inlet duct and the
turbocharger.
Fault finding
– Check for traces of oil between the air inlet duct and
the turbocharger.
Operation to be carried out
– Fit a sealing ring to the turbocharger inlet duct.
Description of the operation
WARNING
Switch off the engine.
Switch off all the electrical consumers.
Allow 1 minute for the electronic systems to switch
off.
Wait for the engine cooling fan to shut off completely.
A – Sealing ring
– Disconnect the battery, starting with the negative
terminal.
REMOVAL
– Remove the engine cover.
– Remove the air filter unit and the turbocharger air
ducts according to Technical Note 3527A.
– Remove any traces of oil between the air inlet duct
and the turbocharger.
REFITTING
WARNING
Handle sealing ring (A) carefully.
The convex section of sealing ring (C) should be
facing outwards.
The factory markings (B) should be visible.
– Fit sealing ring (A) onto the neck of the turbocharger
inlet.

– Fit a new turbocharger air inlet duct (D):
– Fit it fully in position.
– Tighten the clip to a torque of 0.35 daNm .
