easy to get to - only 90 minutes from London
Paddington by train and a short drive from the
M4/M5 motorways. Bath is 120 miles west of
London and just 20 miles from Bristol Airport.

Bristol Airport is the closest airport to Bath. All London airports are
within easy travelling distance, as are a number of airports in the region.
BRISTOL AIRPORT TO BATH
HEATHROW AIRPORT TO BATH
Bristol Airport, just 20 miles from Bath, is one of
Britain’s fastest growing airports and serves over
113 destinations worldwide.
Heathrow Airport is just 100 miles east of Bath
on the M4 motorway. A regular National Express
coach service goes direct from the airport to Bath.
Complete journey time is between 120 and 180
minutes. Alternatively, a Heathrow Express train
service runs between the airport and London
Paddington train station where you can then pick
up a direct train service to Bath Spa train station.
Complete journey time is approximately 135
minutes.
The Bristol Airport Flyer express coach service
leaves the airport every 10 minutes and is a regular
24 hour service, 7 days a week (please check
the airport website for exact times). The coach
drops you at Bristol Temple Meads train station,
where you can catch one of the many frequent
train services into Bath. Complete journey time
from Bristol Airport to Bath Spa train station is
approximately 60 minutes.
GATWICK AIRPORT TO BATH
Gatwick Airport is located south of London,
approximately 140 miles east of Bath. You can
take a train from the airport to Reading train
station where you can pick up a train service to
Bath Spa train station. Complete journey time
is approximately 180 minutes. Alternatively, you
can catch a National Express coach from Gatwick
Airport via Heathrow Airport to Bath. Complete
journey time approximately 270 minutes.
A combined ticket for the Bristol Airport Flyer and
onward rail travel to Bath can be easily purchased
in advance online by visiting www.thetrainline.com.
Alternatively, separate tickets can be purchased
on the day aboard the Bristol Airport Flyer for the
coach ticket and at Bristol Temple Meads train
station for the train ticket.

Bath Spa train station is located in the centre of Bath (D6).
It is a short walk from the city’s shops and attractions.
There are regular train services direct from
London Paddington and London Waterloo to Bath
Spa, with an average journey time of around 90
minutes from Paddington and 120 minutes from
Waterloo.
Bristol Temple Meads is just 15 minutes away by
train. It is a major hub for travel to all other parts
of the country. A number of services to Bath Spa
will change at Bristol Temple Meads including
services from northern England, Scotland, Devon
and Cornwall.
You can get direct trains to Bath Spa from a
number of destinations in the UK including
Cardiff. Regular train services run from Cardiff
Central train station to Bath Spa, with an average
journey time of around 65 minutes.
If you are staying in Bath for a few days you
can easily take a day trip by train to a number of
nearby destinations including Bradford-on-Avon
and Bristol.

As a major visitor destination, Bath welcomes groups and coach parties,
and there are regular services to the city with National Express.
COACH DROP OFF
the country’s major destinations, with frequent
direct services from London and its major
airports arriving in the city via the convenient M4
motorway link.
When bringing a coach to Bath, the main drop off
point is Riverside Coach and Lorry Park (BA1 1UE
– map ref: C5). Centrally located and well signed
from all major access roads, the coach park is a
convenient set-down point located just a 5 minute
level walk from Bath’s main shopping areas and
attractions.
GROUP TRAVEL IN BATH
Groups of visitors are of course welcomed to Bath,
and many of the city’s attractions and hotels offer

COACH PARKING
Long stay coach parking is available at the
Riverside Coach and Lorry Park (BA1 1UE – map
ref: C5). There are approximately 41 spaces, and
charges apply from 08:00 – 19:00. Coin, notes and

Special coach management arrangements apply
during the dates of Bath Christmas Market. All
coaches must register prior to arrival, and a
separate charge is made for the additional services
that are required to manage coaches during this
