/*************************************************** file: D:\Quake3\test\logging_readme.txt time: 2000, March 23, Thursday, 12:07 author: [z]D!ABLO URL: http://www.challenge-au.com/mods email: diablo@evilbastard.org ICQ: 17861734 ***************************************************/ everything is server-side. cvars (with their defaults) are: log_file "" log_flags "7 011111111111111111111111111111111111 30" log_item " 01,00 01 01 01" log_kill " 04,05 00 00 15" log_stat " 01,15 01 01 14" log_inti " 01,00 01 01 01" log_say " 03,00 03 03 03" log_server " 01,00 01 01 01" log_connect " 01,00 01 01 01" log_score " 01,00 01 01 01" log_file is the filename to log to. If left blank, logging is disabled. This can include a virtual path. log_flags has 3 fields, each one separated by a single space. The first field is bitmapped, values are as follows: 1 = strip-colour - everything that is logged will be stripped of it's Q3 colour-codes (^#), including player-names. 2 = reset-file - at map changes the log file will be reset. 4 = add IRC colour-coding - if you're using this to log "QRadio" style, then you can get every message type to be individually coloured. If this is on but "strip-colour" is off, then the Q3 colour-codes will be converted to IRC equivalents. the second field indicates which item pick-ups will be logged. A zero indicates the item won't be logged. A one indicates the item will be logged. The order is as follows: [empty] - the unused first digit (should always be zero) armor shard armor combat armor heavy health small health regular health large health mega weapon gauntlet weapon shotgun weapon machine gun weapon grenade launcher weapon rocket launcher weapon lightning gun weapon railgun weapon plasma gun weapon BFG weapon grapple ammo shells ammo bullets ammo grenades ammo cells ammo lightning ammo rockets ammo slugs ammo BFG holdable teleporter holdable medkit powerup quad powerup enviro suit powerup haste powerup invis powerup regen powerup flight misc red flag misc blue flag the third field is the time interval, in seconds, between stat message updates. Set it to zero to disable stat messages. the rest of the CVARs affect the colouring of their related log message, so if you have colouring switched off, then these CVARs are redundant. For the sake of consistency they all operate in exactly the same way: log_??? " #1 #2 #3 #4" WARNING: the leading space and the double space between elements is EXTREMELY important! the colouring WILL be incorrect if these spaces are not right. #1 is the opening colour-scheme of the message. eg. 07,12 - IRC colours. #2 is the colouring scheme to use for player names (those that dont set their own colours). #3 is the colouring scheme of primary elements in the message - stuff like frags, ammo, MOD etc. #4 is the colouring scheme of secondary elements in the message - stuff like the h & a letters in a stat message. obviously not all messages use all their allowable fields, but as mentioned, consistency is easier to remember. omg, all that just reads confusing... it seems so simple once you know it...
