A: "PAF" runs naturually on your computer as if it's been installed thus is able to use all of you computer's resources like graphics card, memory, etc. ThinApp is an encapsulated snapshot, which runs like a virtual machine using the specs. the application was built on which limits the performance and can cause problems with accessing file/folders. Q: Any other useless nugget to share? A: Be careful with apps. claiming to be portable. A portable app. is only as good as the creator. I have found many apps. to not meet specifications when it comes to "stealth". Many creators do not test for trash left behind or do a shitty job of it. I know it's a pain in the butt, but you should always scan a new portable app., atleast once, to ensure it's truly "stealth". After all, what's the point of using portable apps. if it's not stealth. Q: Why are you so anal about "Stealth"/"Portable" apps? A: Notice how fast your computer is when you first get it? That's because there aren't tons of apps. installed to bog down the OS. With installation comes trash, misplaced registry keys & folders that lead to errors, left over trash from irresponsible uninstallers, etc... in time.. this all accumulates which lead to poor performance, slow boot time, random errors, and overall poor performance.
