Instructions
Number of players: 2-4 Ages: 6 and up
Oh, no! Rumpelstiltskin has turned Far Far Away into a place you’d want
to stay far, far away from! Help Shrek and his friends journey through the
twisted, alternate reality and make it back to their real home in the swamp.
object of the game:
Players take turns rolling the die and moving
their characters clockwise around the board,
trying to get all four characters home to the
swamp area in the middle of the board.
teams:
• There are four teams, with one player per
team (you can also play with only two or
three teams).
• Teams include a Shrek, Fiona, Puss,
and Donkey character.
• Each team has a different pattern on
the base of their characters, and on their
home base area (the area at each corner
of the board).
getting started:
Put your game board on a lat surface. Each
player places all four of their team characters
on their appropriate home base. Each player
rolls the die. Whoever rolls the highest
number gets to go irst.
game play:
The irst player rolls the die and, if they roll a
number, they move their character that many
spaces (clockwise) out of their home base.
Players continue to roll the die and move their
characters clockwise around the board.
• If you land on a space that another
team’s character is on, you can send
that character back to their home base.
If you land on a space that one of your
characters is on, share that space.
• Once a character is in one of their safe
zone spaces, they cannot be sent back
to home base, either by another player
or by rolling Rumpelstiltskin.
• A player does not have to roll the exact
number they need to move a character
from a safe zone space to the swamp.
They only need to roll at least that
number. (For example, if your character
was three spaces away from the swamp,
you could roll a three, or a four or
ive, and still be able to move into the
swamp—just as long as you rolled at
least a three.)
the die:
• The die has a 2, 3, 4, and 5 on its
sides, plus an image of Rumpelstiltskin
and Shrek.
• If you roll Rumpelstiltskin, you must
return a character to your home base.
• If you can’t move any of your characters
back to home base (because they are
on a safe zone spot—the white spots
leading to the swamp from each home
base—or none of them have left home
base yet), then you lose your turn and
the next player rolls.
• If you roll Shrek, you can send one
character from another team back to
their home base, then take their spot
using one of your own characters (even
one that is still on home base).
• If there are two characters from another
team on a spot that you want, you can
send both of them back to their
home base.
• If there are no characters on the board
that you can send back to home base,
you can send any one of your characters
to a spot in your safe zone (even a
character that is still on home base).
Winning:
The irst player to get all four
of their characters home to
the swamp in the middle of
the board, wins.
