Introduction.
ThiseditionofGreekNewTestamentcontainstworevisionsofthe Textus
Receptus andtwootherrecensionsoftheText,asdescribedinthefollowing
paragraphs.Itwaspreparedinstrictaccordancewiththefollowingbasic
principles:
Novariations,howeverstronglysupportedbytheGreekmanuscripts
andprintededitionshavebeenintroducedintothetextbutwererele-
gatedtothefootnotes.Thetotalnumberoffootnotesinthisrevisionis
7455.
Whilethemodernchapterandversenumberingwaspreservedforthe
sakeofconvenientreference,theelementsthatrelyonhumaninter-
pretation,suchascapitallettersandpunctuation,werecompletely
disregardedastheyhavenosupportfromtheancientmanuscripts.
Aspecialsymbol G isusedasaverseterminator.
Thefollowingfourmaintextualrecensionsarefullycollatedinthebase
textandthefootnotesofthisbook.
T TextusReceptus,Stephanus1550edition.Thisisthebasetextof
thepresentedition.Boththeoriginal1550editionandtheCambridge
editionwhichwaspreparedbyF.H.A.Scrivenerin1892wereusedin
thepreparationofthiswork.
K Scrivener,1894.ThisisthetextunderlyingtheEnglishAuthorized
Versionof1611( K standsfor K JV).

theGreekNewTestamentwhichcomesfromthemanuscriptsofthe

Thedecisionastowhichrecensiontochooseasabodyofthetextand
whichtoplaceinthefootnotesisprettymuch arbitrary .However,once
decided,itwasneverdeviatedfrom.Thus,themaintextrepresents exactly
thatofStephanus1550TextusReceptus,whilstthereadingsinthefootnotes
correspond exactly totherecensionsrepresentedbytheirrespectivesymbols.
Ineect,thisbookcontains“fourbooksinone”,i.e.,assumesthatthereader
willworkwiththefootnotesasdiligentlyaswiththemaintext.Thereis
nothingintrinsicthatwouldmakeanyreadinginthefootnotespreferredto
