Try high-yielding cypress for outdoor projects
grained and often knot-free. Native to
the southeastern United States, cypress
might cost a little more than cedar in
some parts of the country, but that cost
can be offset by the high yield of each
board. I buy it “green” and then air-dry
it to save money.
