The ND 522/523 counter family uses a CP210 USB to UART Bridge Controller chip for communication. To communicate with the ND 522/523, the following driver installation is necessary: - The virtual COM port driver files must be installed by executing the CP210x_VCP_Win2K_XP.exe installation first. - Once the driver files are installed, you can plug in the USB cable from the ND 522/523 counter. The New Hardware server assists you in activating the virtual COM port driver. - Afterwards a connection with the ND 522/523 can be established by opening the COM port that is displayed int the TNCserver configuration when you press the "Find free ports" button. Note: The virtual COM driver is also needed to download software upgrades to the ND 522/523. The downloading utility software will also include an installation wizard for installing the driver on the end user?s PC.
