Some post documentation notes. While editing personality fields, press pg dn or pg up to insure the value will be correctly copied into the personality. While reading in a personality, you may encounter a message about a corrupt personality. In most cases this is caused by a SID/LLI set to zero or an invalid value, and is safe to continue. Check by choosing Modify O/S (F8) on the personality editing screens (F3 from the main menu) and paging to the screen showing SID (for MDC protocol) or LLI (for RDLAP protocol). The program allows you to make the choice to continue editing but gives you warning you may not wish to continue. Remember to press enter or tab after entering a value, especially in the radio services menu if the cursor is still in the field you just entered. Sometimes a value you have entered will be zeroed out when the screen is updated, you didn't press enter or tab after typing in a value. Infrequently, the RSS program will crash or exit incorrectly, leaving a directory called RSS.VV$ in the same directory as the rss program. If there are files in RSS.VV$, do NOT delete the files in rss.vv$. Use the the following dos command, chkdsk /f to correct the problem. When chkdsk asks about making rss.vv$ into a file, answer yes. Delete the rss.vv$ file after chkdsk is finished.
