Uninstalling DirectX Media Plugins If you have the latest version of Ray Gun, you have two ways to automatically uninstall the program: run the "Remove Ray Gun" uninstaller application, or uninstall from the Start -> Settings -> Control panel -> Add-Remove programs selection window. If you have a previous version of Ray Gun or Ray Gun Demo installed, you will need to uninstall it before installing this version. The best way to do this is to use the automatic uninstall options described above; however, if you don't have an uninstaller (or it fails) you may need to unregister the plugins manually prior to deleting them. Some applications (such as Sound Forge) are able to unregister plugins when they are no longer found in their registered directory location, or you may drag the plugin onto the Sound Forge window to unregister it. If you don't have an audio application that can do this, you can unregister a plugin at a DOS prompt by typing in the command shown below: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\REGSVR32.EXE /U [complete path to plugin] You will probably need to enclose the path in quotes to allow for long filenames. For example, to uninstall the Ray Gun plugin from the default location, you would replace the bracketed item above with "C:\PROGRAM FILES\ARBORETUM SYSTEMS\RAYGUN 1.3\RAYGUN.DLL"
