Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
This spell causes all living, breathing
creatures within a 30-foot radius that have
fewer combined HD than the caster must
save or sigh very loudly, giving away their
position even if hidden or invisible. For
one round, creatures that are sighing are
considered flat-footed.

Spell Resistance: Yes
By means of this spell, the caster
can locate and follow a single creature or
object bearing the caster’s arcane mark . The
creature or object can be mentally tracked
wherever it goes so long as it and the caster
remain on the plane where the spell is cast.
If the target leaves the plane where the spell
is cast, the caster can no longer track the
creature or item until it returns to the plane
where the sigil of location was cast. If the
target is slain or destroyed, the spell ends
immediately. Only one item or creature at a
time can be tracked with this spell.
Introduction
he following excerpt is taken
from the pages of Kressmer’s
Eclectic Grimoire of Spells, Arcana ,
and Miscellaneous Enchantments ,
Compiled by the gnome wizard,
Kressmer C. Brownburrows (better
known as “Kressmer the Odd”),
the metal-bound book itself is
a marvelous and disorganized
hodgepodge of missing and hidden
pages, looseleaf parchments, and
hovering sigils, accompanied by
scribbled, almost incomprehensible
margin notes in the old wizard’s
spidery handwriting. he tome has
innumerable pages and grows each
year by another several dozen. he
only known copy of the Eclectic
Grimoire is currently located in
Kressmer’s Tower, somewhere to the
west of the Elyrian capital city of
Gannelel.
For over one hundred years,
Kressmer has collected spells from
the far reaches of Evernor and
created many of his own – becoming
the world’s foremost creator and
curator of unique, unusual, and
sometimes useful spells. What
follows is a small section from that
legendary book.
Rock of Remembrance
Enchantment
Level: Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: Rock touched
Duration: One day/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
This unique enchantment imbues
a single rock, stone, or boulder with the
ability to “remember” all sounds that occur
within 120 ft. of it. By speaking a special
command word, the caster (and only the
caster) can listen to the sounds. Sounds are
retained by the rock permanently unless it
directly targeted by a stoneshape , transmute
rock to mud , erase , or other similar spell that
affects stone, in which case all sounds
retained are lost forever.
Material Component: A dehydrated ear.
Annoying Itch
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-
Affecting]
Level: Sor/Wiz 2
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target: One creature
Duration: 1 minute/level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
When cast upon another living
creature, this spell causes the afflicted
individual to believe that they have an
itch that no matter how hard they scratch
will not go away. While this itching,
or the scratching, does not inflict any
damage upon the creature, they do suffer
a cumulative –1 penalty to attack rolls,
damage rolls, and AC for every five levels
of the spellcaster if they fail their initial
saving throw.
Arcane Component: A pinch of salt and a
thorn or a sprig of poison ivy.
Haunting Melody
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-
Affecting, Sonic]
Level: Brd 3, Clr 4, Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Personal
Area: 20-foot radius spread
Duration: Concentration
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
With this spell, the caster begins to sing
a melody that has a strange effect upon all
those who hear it. All creatures within 20-
feet of the caster must make a saving throw,
or else be affected by the enchantment.
For as long as the creatures remain within
the radius of the spell, they are considered
shaken (suffering a –2 morale penalty on

This spell functions as deep slumber
except the targets are not awakened even if
slapped or wounded. A greater shout or greater
dispel magic automatically counters or negates
the effects of power word sleep .

Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
You utter a single word of power that
causes one creature of your choice to laugh
hysterically—as though affected by a hideous
laughter spell—whether the creature can hear
the word or not. Additionally, the creature
takes 1d6 points of nonlethal damage per
day of laughter. The duration of the spell
depends on the target’s current hit point
total. Any creature that currently has 201 or
more hit points is unaffected by power word
laugh . If a creature falls unconscious from
laughter, the spell ends and the creature will
awaken in 1d4 minutes.
