Europe’s World . Based on
the rapidly multiplying numbers of
letters and articles being
submitted, my own sense is that
the journal is well on the way to
becoming an essential point of reference
for anyone with a professional interest in
Europe’s future.
European readership of some
200,000 senior people in politics
and government, academia,
business and the media. We also
aim to reflect as wide a range of
opinions as we can on the issues
confronting Europe. The result
has been a stimulating mosaic of views that
instead of reflecting national positions have
focused on tackling EU-level problems with
EU-level solutions.
The concept of Europe’s World is novel;
until our launch issue last autumn there was
no Europe-wide policy journal. There were
many distinguished policy journals in
Europe, but all of them viewed Europe and
European policy issues through their
national prisms.
The unanswered question, of
course, is whether the speed with which
policymakers have responded to Europe’s
World as a new medium for sparking
pan-European debate is enough to make a
difference to policymaking. We certainly
intend to ensure that it does so.

Europe. They now number 54, and their
involvement in our Advisory Board ensures
that the journal is used as a working tool by
policymakers from the Atlantic to the Urals.
The ratio between our modestly low
advertising rates and our outreach to 200,000
decision-makers in some 35 European
countries makes Europe’s World a great-value
advertising medium. We’re proud that a
