1Pixel Menu Styles

Thanks for purchasing the my set of 1 pixel menu layer styles. I hope you enjoy them.

Included in this pack are 12 different layer styles all saved in an .asl file and a layered .psd file of the preview. These were created on an Apple Mac and any instructions mentioned below are for the Mac version of Photoshop but you can use the files in exactly the same way on PCs.

The font used in the .psd preview is Arial.

These styles are very simple to use - here's how:

I will explain everything in detail here so that beginners can use these styles easily. If you are an expert in Photoshop you probably know all of this already...

Open a new Photoshop document and go to the 'Styles' palette. Open the options and click 'Load styles...' then browse to the AY_1_Pixel_Menu_Styles.asl file supplied, and open. The styles will now appear in your Style palette and you can click on these when your layer is selected to apply the style.

The styles are designed to be used to create a clean 1 pixel shadow or highlight to you text or shapes so there is no need to scale the styles up or down. They will work as they are - just make sure your file is set to 72 ppi. Tip: To get the cleanest effect I find that setting the text anti-aliasing to 'strong' gives the best results. You will find the anti-alias options by selection the text tool (T) and in the menu bar at the top of the screen there will be an 'aa' icon where you can choose from 'none, sharp, crisp, strong, smooth'. As I said I find 'strong' to be the best but feel free to experiment.

Recolouring layers

The styles only control the shadow and highlight so you can set your layers to any colour you like and the style will not be affected.

Have fun, and contact me on Graphic River if you have any questions. Also if you like this product please leave feedback.

Thanks,

Axle
