HOW TO USE PARTS LIST
A. Assembly Location Diagrams. These diagrams show
the locations of major assemblies of the printer. Their
names are identified in rectangular boxes. Below each
box is the number of the Figure which shows an ex-
ploded view of the assembly.
(5) Quantity column. The quantity shown in this
column is the number of parts used in the figure. How-
ever, the quantity listed for an assembly indicates the
number of that assembly per machine.
Finding a Parts Number. Refer to the Assembly
Location Diagrams and find the Figure Number of the
assembly of interest. Turn to the page(s), locate the part
on the exploded view, and find its Drawing Number.
Refer to the Parts List on the page facing the exploded
view and find the Drawing Number, Part Number and
quantity required for your type of machine.

The letters (RF and AR) in this column indicate that the
quantity of a part is not specified, allowing the use of the
number of parts needed for assembly and that the quan-
tity cannot be mentioned clearly.
For screws, nuts, washers, retaining rings, pins, and
spacers which are used in all modes, Drawing Numbers
that consist of one letter plus two digits are shown on the
exploded diagrams. To identify these parts locate the
Drawing Numbers in the “List of Standard Fasteners”
and find the Part Number(s).
(6) Remarks. When there are differences in the speci-
fications of the fuse, destinations, etc., the differences are
described in words or indicated by two letters.

UK ........ United Kingdom
Note: While looking for a Part Number, pay particular
attention to the voltage listed the REMARKS
column to ensure that the Part Number selected
is for your type of machine. Immediate shipping
or action regarding the part depends on using its
correct Part Number.
EC ........ EC
AS ........ Australia
HK ....... HongKong
The seal number of ROM in main logic board is de-
scribed in this column. The “**” mark of a seal number
is variable depending on the software version.
Parts List pages. The Parts List pages contain the
following columns and information.
(7) Rank. Parts marked “S” are Service Parts. Service
Parts are recommendable for maintenance. Parts Marked
“N” are not stock items. That are produced on a special-
order basis.
(1) Drawing Number column. The first columnshows
the Drawing Number of the illustration corresponding to
the Parts List.
B. List of Standard Fasteners. This list incorporates
screws, nuts, washers and shim washers, retaining rings,
pins, and spacers that are used in all copies (including
optional equipment). These parts have different Drawing
Numbers from the usual Drawing Numbers in each
illustration. These parts are not listed in the part number
list corresponding to the illustration.
(2) Revised Edition Mark. This column shows a
revision number.
Parts that have been added in the revised edition are
indicated with “#”.
Parts that have been abolished in the revised edition are
indicated with “*” . For examplr,

C. Numerical Index. There is a Numerical Index at the
end of this catalog; it lists in numerical order every Part
Number contained in the Parts Lists. The Numerical
Index contains the following columns and information.

(l) Part Number. The first column shows the Part
Number.
(3) Part Number . The third column shows the Part
Number for the part. This Number must be indicated
when ordering part. The part marked “NPN” in this
column do not have a Part Number and are not stocked.
(2) Drawing Number column. The second column
lists the Drawing Number for each occurrence of the part
in the illustrations.
(4) Parts Name. Part names must be indicated when
ordering the part.
