Origami Duckling
This little duckling is quick and simple to fold, and it is cute
too! It is a good beginner’s project (although it has more
folds and is a little more complicated than the dog and the
cat).
1. Start by folding your
square in half diagonally,
and creasing carefully.
2. Unfold.
3. Now fold the square in half
along the other diagonal, and
crease again.
4. Unfold again, and lay your
square on the table with the col-
ored side facing up.
5. Now fold the top point down
until it meets the centre point, as
shown. Crease, then unfold.
6. Fold the top point down
again, this time lining up the
crease marks, as shown in the
photo above.

7. Now fold the point back up again,
so that the point is lined up with the
edge of the model.
8. Flip the whole thing over.
9. Take the bottom pointed edge
and turn it up, as shown ...
10. and then fold it back down
again, to form the tail.
11. Fold the edges in, so that
the straight edges are parallel
to the middle crease but a little
outside it.
12. Flip over again,
and your duckling is
ready to decorate.
Draw his eyes with a
black marker pen, or
use googly eyes if you
prefer. You may like to
cut a small rectangle
of orange paper to
stick over his beak.
